Before Sex and the City, it was just Carrie

So Zee Café is going to start airing Carrie Diaries, based on the book by Candace Bushnell, which talks about how Carrie became who she is and came to NYC. Our young Carrie, played by AnnaSophia Robb (who was the kid who chews chewing gum in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) is a very good fit, but I hate the way she keeps screwing up her relationships, especially when all she wants to do is fall in love. Her love interest, Sebastian Kid, played by Austin Butler, is to die for good looking. Really! I love his slicked back hair and that smile. Her other friends are a fun gang and there is enough to keep you coming back for more. But for me the highlight of the show, like the original series, is the fashion. Once Carrie heads to NYC and meets her mentor Larissa Loughlin who works for interview magazine, it’s all about the clothes. And I love all of them. From Larissa’s 80s over the top style to Carrie’s sparkling prom dresses, it’s a feast for the eyes. Watch and drool. Perfect chick viewing.
