Sunday reads

We all wake up on Sunday and ask for the Sunday papers, don’t we? I need them to even drink that cup of tea. and i must admit that these days the only thing i really like reading on a Sunday is my horoscope. That great Sunday story is hard to come by. Leaving the main papers aside, the supplements, which are supposed to be fun have some random pieces. I actually like Mumbai Mirror on Sunday as they do some cute features. This time, the one that caught my eye was the one on resort deliveries, where women go and have their babies with a help of a mid-wife, not doctor. Scary yet fascinating.

Bombay Times obviously has Bollywood on its mind with a so-so Amitabh interview and a news clip about how Katrina and Hrithik got stuck in a storm!! Really? the rest of the paper just has ads. HT cafe has Deol interview and that’s it. DNA After Hrs has a story about Priyanks tryst as Mary Kom (who really cares) and really nothing else. I am sad to report that my newspaper vendor forgot to give me my Brunch, which is always fun reading. I am also tired of newspapers carrying depressing health stories on a Sunday. I know i am mortal — please don’t remind me every chance you get. I feel that if you don’t worry too much about what you may fall sick of, you will actually be healthier. Don’t worry, be happy yaar.

So then i went online and found these. I went through pictures of Ottavio Missoni of Missoni at work at the New York Times. Ottavio died at the age of 92 recently, after creating a fashion house that’s both respected and coveted. missoni

and then there is a NY mag piece about how Punk is taking over high fashion. Great stuff. punk
